Carlos Sainz is gearing up for the upcoming Dutch Grand Prix and is looking forward to returning to the Zandvoort circuit as it has some of the features the Spanish Ferrari driver loves.
Carlos Sainz: “The season continues and it is strange to return to racing in Zandvoort because it mostly happened in Spa and the Belgian Grand Prix was the first leg of the second part of the championship. In 2023 this has changed, but Zandvoort lends itself perfectly to get behind the wheel again, because on this circuit you feel which forces and how they affect the Formula 1 car. After a three-week break, everyone will feel it because of the great strain on the neck muscles.
I like the fast nature of this circuit, it’s great that there are corners, but I think it’s mostly defined by the 5th, 6th and 7th corners.
There is also a great atmosphere and I must also admit that Max Verstappen’s fans have always treated me well, so I quite like the Dutch weekend. It’s great that the grandstands are always full and the Netherlands is one of those countries where Formula 1 is now very popular.
