Cup in Zandvoort re-styled as the 1939 prize

The organizers of the Dutch Grand Prix have published the first photos of the trophies that will receive the winner and prize winners of this year’s race in Zandvoort.

They were re-entrusted to the Studio Piet Boon design studio, which again focused on the history of Dutch motorsport, so that the prizes are externally similar to those awarded at the 1939 Zandvoort Grand Prix, although at the time it was a race of a full different kind of.

But these are small details, but the point is that the cups have an image of the Royal coat of arms of the Netherlands. On the winning trophy it is gold, on the 2nd place cup it is red and on the third place it is blue.

The cups are made of ceramic, symbolizing the centuries-old history of porcelain art for which the Netherlands has long been known.

In 2021, the same studio also created prizes based on the pre-war Grand Prix of Zandvoort, but made from recycled glass from beer bottles.
