In mid-August, the McLaren team launched a new wind tunnel. Lando Norris insisted not to wait for immediate action, but thinks McLaren will build a car in 2025 thanks to the upgraded infrastructure, behind the wheel that you can compete for the title.
Lando Norris: “There is a difference between putting together all the necessary ingredients and making those elements work. New specialists from Red Bull and Ferrari are coming to us, now we have a new wind tunnel and a new simulator will soon be up and running.
It will take time for the team to make the most of everything we have at our disposal. The first noticeable changes regarding the speed of the car will become visible next year. Maybe we can compete for a little more in 2024, but there is a very good chance that we will have a chance in 2025.”
Commenting on the prospects for McLaren this weekend at Zandvoort, Lando said: “The circuit is somewhat similar to the Budapest circuit, so there’s no reason to think we can’t continue in the same vein.
To claim victory we need luck. For example in the form of technical problems with Max Verstappen. In a normal situation it is now difficult for us to claim first place. I’m not confident we can put a fight on Max.
