Both McLaren drivers completed the first practice session in Zandvoort in the top ten – Lando Norris set the 6th fastest time, Oscar Piastri – the 8th. Zach Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing, hopes the team will show good results at this track.
Zach Brown: “We introduced a new rear wing this weekend and it was installed on Oscar’s car during practice so we could compare the performance of the two versions of the wing. In general, we have collected data and so far everything is going well. The track is gradually covered with a layer of waste rubber, and the positions we are in will become clear later.
I think we need to be competitive this weekend. We’ve had a lot of confidence over the previous three or four races, and many teams still continue to introduce certain new items, including us – in Formula 1 this is a constant process. Our team is now in a real fighting mood, everyone is doing their job perfectly.
The weekend at Spa wasn’t easy, but we understand that the return to the group leaders doesn’t promise to be any time soon. There will be more successful weekends, but there will also be failures, but we will definitely return to the game.
