Robert Schwartzman: It was interesting, but very difficult

At Zandvoort, Robert Schwartzman held his first practice this season in a Ferrari car, and although he completed it on the penultimate line of protocol, he said after the session that it was very interesting to work.

Robert Schwartzman: “It was interesting, but very difficult – I have to admit this. It was my first time driving an SF-23 and my first time on the Zandvoort circuit. In general, the task of the training was this: to perform aerodynamic tests, which means that we had to keep a steady pace on hard tyres, and that we were not chasing speed.

The difficulties were related to the fact that the balance of the car changed noticeably, it behaved very nervously on the track, it was difficult to control, and I repeat – the car was not adjusted to the highest possible speeds.

In this sense, unfortunately, we did not have the opportunity to show impressive results on the circle, but the task was to drive as many circles as possible. We managed to fully implement the program and I am satisfied with that.

The team has received a significant amount of data and can now analyze it. Speaking of my experience, I enjoyed driving a Formula 1 car anyway, it’s always fun!

I’m just sorry we didn’t do any series of circles where we could show good speed, but at least one more first practice session is planned, so I hope I get another chance like that. And then I can focus on the high results on the circle, instead of working with settings and race pace.
