For the third season in a row, Sergio Perez remains a teammate of Max Verstappen. The Mexican has a contract with Red Bull Racing until the end of 2024, but Helmut Marko’s latest statements raise some doubts about whether Sergio will spend next season with the team.
A potential replacement for Perez could be Daniel Ricciardo, but Max Verstappen told Italy’s Sky Sport that he and Lando Norris had discussed the prospect of becoming teammates.
Max Verstappen: “Lando is my best friend of all Formula 1 drivers, so we discussed the prospect of becoming partners one day. However, he currently has a long-term contract with McLaren. Let’s see what happens in the future.
For me, if I had to choose someone from the past, the best partner would be my father. I think his career didn’t go according to plan, even though he had great potential. He knows what went wrong and he knows how important it is to have the right people around you from a young age to move in the right direction. That’s why he worked so closely with me.”
