Oliver Rowland will return to the factory Nissan team and become Sasha Fenestrasz’s new running mate next season. In 2018, the British driver made his debut in Formula E with Nissan, spending three seasons with it, winning qualifying five times and finishing on the podium as many times, including winning the race in Berlin in 2020.
He spent the previous two seasons with Mahindra, one and a half to be exact, when he parted ways with the Indian team at the end of May and was replaced by Roberto Meri for the remaining races of the season. Even then, it was rumored that the 31-year-old Briton was dissatisfied with the crisis situation in Mahindra, so he decided to part ways in advance, but was given extra time to negotiate with other teams in view of 2024.
“I’m very happy, it’s like coming home to where I started my Formula E career and where I’ve had a lot of success,” said Rowland on signing with the Nissan Formula E team. – Last year this team made steady progress, the results grew. I am sure that together with Sasha we will form a strong duet, because in his debut season he showed excellent speed.
I’m looking forward to getting back to work, I’m ready, I want to see quickly what we can achieve together with the team.
Rowland replaced Norman Nato in the Nissan team – there is no information yet about the French driver’s plans for next year.
