In 2023, Ferrari lacks stability – the team’s competitiveness varies from track to track. Scuderia driver Carlos Sainz hopes the car’s speed will allow him to compete for a spot on the podium at Monza.
Carlos Sainz: “It’s great to be a Formula 1 driver, it’s even better to be a Ferrari driver, and being a Ferrari driver at Monza is the next level. The team will have a very special weekend – we will try to make the most of the positive energy that the fans are sending us.
In the second half of this season I will try to concentrate exclusively on my work and help the team as much as possible in the Constructors’ Championship. We try to achieve a stable behavior of the car and to get the most out of what we have available every weekend.
On some weekends we can fight for the podium, on some, like in Zandvoort, fifth place is our maximum. I want to get the best out of the car every time and I’m focused on that.
I hope Monza gets one of those weekends where we fight for the podium, and not just for places somewhere in the top ten like in Zandvoort. We will try to please the fans, but if we have learned anything this season it is that it is difficult to make predictions.”
