In 2023, Red Bull Racing has won all the last thirteen races of the season. At the FIA press conference in Monza, Sergio Perez said they are waiting with the team for the Italian Grand Prix.
Sergio Perez: “Now it is difficult to make predictions, because there have already been cases this year when we expected a serious lead over rivals, and the battle turned out to be very fierce. On the other hand, there were races in which the lead turned out to be larger than expected.
The track in Monza is unlike any other we’ve played on this year, so we’re interested in seeing how the balance of power will be.
I start the weekend with a lot of confidence and want it without any problems. The alternative distribution of tires will only complicate the task in qualifying, as it already happened in Hungary. At this circuit it is crucial to qualify high. I hope we get a great result.”
When asked why his teammate Max Verstappen has such an advantage, Sergio said: “I think we should pay tribute to Max’s performance. At the moment he flies at an extreme level and gives the full 100% every weekend, regardless of the circumstances. For me as a partner, it’s hard to see this.
No matter how simple or easy the car is to drive and what advantage we have, it still gets 100% out of itself and the car.”
