Bottas helmet is dedicated to the Alfa Romeo drivers of the 1950s

The upcoming Italian Grand Prix at Monza is a special race for the Alfa Romeo F1 team, and not only because it is its home base, but also the last year that the renowned Italian marque is title sponsor of the Hinwil team.

Alfa Romeo took this event seriously; We’ve already talked about the presentation of the latest 33 Stradale supercar and the special livery version of the C34 cars that Valtteri Bottas and Guangyu Zhou will drive this weekend.

But the Finnish driver prepared for the Italian race weekend in his own way and presented a different design for his helmet, which he will use at Monza. As always, it was designed by Tiffany Cromwell, Valtteri’s Australian girlfriend, and epitomized by the Italian designer known as Daniel.

This version is dedicated to the drivers who won Formula 1 more than seventy years ago in Alfa Romeo cars and is supposed to be reminiscent of the racing helmets of the time.

“We are in Monza, this is Alfa Romeo’s home grand prix,” Bottas said as he unveiled his new helmet. “This is a big race weekend and I pay tribute to the very beginning of Alfa Romeo’s path in Formula 1. In the early 1950s. Specifically, we are talking about 1950, when Giuseppe Nino Farina became world champion, and about 1951, when Juan Manuel Fangio became the title won. It’s a retro style helmet, reminiscent of the helmets riders wore back then.”
