Haas F1 is happy with Friday’s results, but looking forward to Saturday’s progress…
Kevin Magnussen (11th): “Good Friday. We were more competitive than in previous stages, at least on Friday. We tried to set a good time in the second and third practice before, but in qualifying everything was different.
Nevertheless it was a positive day, hopefully we can confirm this speed in a fast lap, although the pace on a long run of laps so far leaves a lot to be desired.
Nico Hulkenberg (10th): “A long run of laps in practice two was interrupted by red flags twice, which broke our schedule, preventing us from collecting all the information on Sunday.
On a fast lap I felt pretty confident, but a long series of circles with a lot of fuel couldn’t be done, so it’s hard for me to comment on anything.
Let’s see what the alternative approach to tire distribution will change. I think it will be harder for us to get out of the first part of qualifying. But we are preparing to overcome this challenge.”
