The AlphaTauri pilots were not that fast on Friday, but they are optimistically looking forward to Saturday…
Yuki Tsunoda (14th): “Normal day. During the first training session we did some tests and during the second we worked with the machine. We know our weaknesses, we still need to find a few tenths to be in the top ten.
We’ve added a lot of speed on the straights which will help fight in the upper part of the middle group of teams. Due to the red flags, we were only able to do a few long stretches of laps, so let’s see how it goes tomorrow.
I really want to go through to the second part of the qualification and to the final. In the evening we will carefully study the telemetry in order to prepare ourselves as best as possible for tomorrow.”
Liam Lawson (18th): “We did everything we planned, which is very important. There is a third training in preparation for qualifying – this time we use.
In Formula 1 I haven’t worked with different tire compounds in qualifying yet, but I will focus on warming up the tires in the first session, especially the Hard compound.
Yuki is a great partner and Ricciardo gave me a lot of advice last week. They support me a lot, just like the whole team. The most important thing is to achieve a comfortable driving experience.
