At Monza, Oscar Piastri outperformed his more experienced partner for the third time this season, reaffirming his pace. At the same time, Lando Norris is not entirely satisfied with his performance…
Oscar Pistri (7th): “Not a bad result. I felt like I had done a decent lap at the end of the session, I could hardly do more, so I’m happy with my job.
Of course I would like to be a bit more competitive, but I think we’re in about the position we expected. In the evening we will continue working to better prepare for the race, and then we will see what we can achieve tomorrow.”
Lando Norris (9th): “Not my best qualifying, but overall the day went well. But on the last attempt we failed to improve – probably because I was too close to the car in front of me.
This affected the result more than I hoped, but other than that I think Oscar and I performed pretty much as expected. He did a good job. A tough day overall, but I think we did everything in our power.
Andrew StellaTeam boss: “As usual, qualifying at Monza is very exciting because everyone is trying to get into the right position on track. I have to commend the team for the way we acted in this environment.
Talking about the results, today we didn’t have enough speed to fight for positions in the front. Still, we are pleased that it was thanks to the good work of the team and drivers that both cars made it through to the final session.
Now we are preparing for tomorrow’s race. At high temperatures, the load on the tires will be high, but we will try to find the most effective approach and earn as many points as possible.”
