Alex Albon had another great qualifying session with the Williams and reached the final for the fifth time in the last seven Grands Prix…
Alex Albon (6th): “We went to Monza hoping to reach the qualifying final and sixth place was a great achievement. We have a great car, faster opponents are ahead of us in race distance, but here everything is as usual. If you manage to keep the position against Aston Martin and McLaren, I will be happy.
The car is fine, for qualifying we adjusted the settings every session – we couldn’t find the optimal one, but then everything fell into place. We knew this track was the right choice for us, but we need to use this weekend to make progress in the Constructors’ Championship. We’ll see what happens tomorrow.”
Logan Sargent (15th): “Over the course of the weekend we didn’t manage to get the tires working, except for the composition of the Hard. This needs to be addressed. On Hard I felt very comfortable, and later on Medium there were problems. Everything was fine until we changed the composition and we don’t understand the reason.
We didn’t do a lot of long runs this weekend so we have no idea how we will look on Sunday. My goal is to achieve more than today, we have a fast car – let’s see what tomorrow brings.
