Pirelli waited for one pit stop in Monza, which didn’t work out for everyone…
Mario IsolaPirelli: “Despite the fact that Verstappen and Red Bull won the race again, the Italian Grand Prix turned out to be really spectacular, with many exciting duels.
Asphalt temperatures exceeded 40°C, increasing tire degradation. But even using softer compounds than last year, the riders confidently kept the situation under control, as evidenced by numerous battles that lasted for several laps.
Our prediction from yesterday was almost completely confirmed during the race. The one-stop strategy was the quickest, but if anyone stopped before the optimum time, they had to make a second pit stop, with the exception of the Williams duo, who again proved their skill with the tires.
Finally, I would like to thank the hundreds of thousands of fans who filled the grandstands of this historic circuit for three days. This is our home round and even when we’re not competing on track, we feel like we’re part of a great Formula 1 show, especially here in Monza.”
