Prior to the Italian Grand Prix, it was announced that Lewis Hamilton’s contract with Mercedes will be extended until the end of 2025. The seven-time world champion said that immediately after signing a new deal with the team, he started thinking about plans for 2026 and the next contract.
Lewis Hamilton: “My target for the next two years is to give 100% and win the title. Our team is second in the Constructors’ Championship and we want to overthrow those who are currently at the top. I believe 100% that we can do it.
When we talk about long-term plans, I already think of the next contract: what it could look like and how long it could last. I’ve been pondering this question for a while.
But things can still change. Maybe next year I’ll decide enough is enough. Who knows? You never know what’s in store for you in life, but right now I’m focusing on staying positive every day. I know everyone on the team is struggling right now.
It is important to stay fit and healthy, find the right balance between fun and work, balance in family life, and so on. I believe I have now found this balance, which allows me to really enjoy what I do.
