McLaren Racing and NEOM, an emerging region in northwestern Saudi Arabia focused on environmental programs, have announced a long-term strategic partnership.
From next season, NEOM will become the title partner of the McLaren Racing Extreme E and Formula E off-road teams. These two electrically powered teams will form a separate division called NEOM McLaren Electric Racing.
In addition, McLaren will be one of the founders of the modern ecosystem of the new city of Oksagon, located on the coast of the Red Sea in the territory of NEOM, and representatives of the Saudi Arabian university community will have the opportunity to do a one-year internship run with McLaren Racing.
Zach Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing said: “We are delighted to welcome NEOM to the McLaren Racing family. This is a great way for us to make our debut in Formula E and combine the two electric series in which our teams compete.
We are delighted to represent NEOM McLaren Electric Racing and work with NEOM to develop talent and drive innovation.”
