At the British Grand Prix, Pirelli brings the three most difficult compounds – C1, C2 and C3. The head of the Italian company’s racing division, Mario Isola, believes that these tires are best suited for the Silverstone circuit, where rubber is subject to increased loads.
Mario Isola: “During last year’s British Grand Prix, the show car for 2022 was unveiled, marking the direction the sport is taking this season.
Current aerodynamic regulations have made it possible to create cars that allow riders to chase each other closely and overtake more, as we saw on the Canada stage. At the same time, tires are designed to reduce overheating, provide greater stability and a wider working range.
All these aspects will be fully tested this weekend at one of the busiest tracks of the season for tires.”
