Oscar Piastri is ready for his debut race in Singapore

In the past two races after the summer break, McLaren only achieved twelve points. British team riders Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri are expecting a more productive stage in Singapore.

Lando Norris: “I am very happy to be back in Singapore. This is one of the most exciting circuits on the calendar, but also one of the most physically challenging. Our car looks great in the new Stealth Mode livery and I’m looking forward to seeing it on the track.

Last week I returned to base in Woking. Together with the engineers we discussed our performance and the result in Monza. We will continue to progress and hope to continue to earn points consistently.”

Oscar Piastri: “I have always enjoyed watching the Singapore Grand Prix and now I am looking forward to making my debut at the Marina Bay Circuit. I did a lot of simulator work last week to prepare myself as best as possible. However, this is one of the routes that a newbie must drive on his own to gain experience.

In Singapore we face difficult conditions due to the high humidity. This is a new challenge for me, but I have also prepared myself for it. The race can be dangerous. We have seen in the past that anything can happen.

Our car got a slightly different livery for the next two stages – I like it. I hope we come back with a good result. I’m ready for next weekend!”

Andrea Stella, Team Leader: “We are going to the bustling city state of Singapore for the start of the Asian Dual Series. Singapore is always home to exciting racing and our MCL60 will feature a slightly modified livery, created in collaboration with our partners at OKX.

The Singapore Grand Prix takes place under unique conditions: high humidity and a staggered schedule pose additional problems for the team and drivers. We have worked hard to develop the MCL60 and hope to continue the positive momentum into the final third of the season.”
