On the Talking Bull podcast, Daniel Ricciardo spoke about the worst days of his career…
Daniel Ricciardo: “The past year at McLaren was full of ups and downs. I’m used to success, to speed, to pats on the back as a sign of approval. There are always moments of doubt, but there weren’t as many as in the last year I raced for McLaren.
At times I realized I had fallen too low, but I tried to adapt and draw conclusions.
If you win, it’s easy. You want to celebrate success instead of doing boring homework and enjoying the moment, which is completely fair. But it’s the days when everything goes wrong that provide the most benefit.
I believe these failures made me come back and try to find a way to overcome them. It was a difficult time, but I learned a lot from it.”
