Esteban Ocon is cautiously optimistic about the team’s chances at the Singapore Grand Prix. Alpine has readied new products for the city stage and expects them to solve the problems with the A523’s weaknesses.
Esteban Ocon: “We will do everything we can to have a good weekend. The team has brought quite a few new products to Singapore, which in theory look promising. Our staff has done an excellent job getting the updates ready for this phase. We hope that the new products will allow us to solve problems with our weaknesses and get greater speed from the car.
Our weaknesses relate to several parameters, such as balance. We noticed that the car is slower on certain types of tracks than others. We want to smooth out such differences in results. For example, this year in Monaco we looked great, which cannot be said about the Budapest track.
We hope that thanks to the new products we will be in good shape. Our goal is to get back into the top ten this weekend.”
