The McLaren team has prepared updates to the car for the Singapore Grand Prix. The new items are currently available in one copy and appear on Lando Norris’s MCL60. His teammate Oscar Piastri will receive an update in the next round in Japan.
Lando Norris hopes that these updates will help the team take the same step forward made thanks to the new products presented in Spielberg, Austria.
Lando Norris: “We hope that these new products will allow us to take the biggest step forward since the days of the Austrian new products. Obviously we haven’t tested the updated car on the track yet, so I don’t want to make any big promises until we get the car working properly, but the new products should allow us to take a good step forward.
The team has been working hard to bring at least one copy of the update to Singapore. We’ll take the rest to Japan, so we have some exciting weekends ahead of us.”
The McLaren driver added that the main purpose of the new products is to improve the car’s performance at low speeds: “Sometimes we put new products on the car, but they did not show the results we expected. That was the case until Austria, but after that the team has made a lot of progress, which gives me more hope.
These updates concern the speed of the car at low speeds, and this is what makes the new products different from those in Austria. “It’s about improving the overall performance of the car, not about making me feel more comfortable behind the wheel.”
