Mick Schumacher: I love the track at Silverstone

In an interview with the team’s press service, Haas driver Mick Schumacher spoke about his expectations for the upcoming British Grand Prix.

Q: How do you feel about returning to Silverstone?
Mick Schumacher: The team is going to have a great stage as this week the families of many employees will come to watch the race in the stands, which was not possible last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. I can get to know each family, which is great.

I have both good and not the best memories of Silverstone, but I’ve always liked the track, so I’m happy to start the European race series, where we will have less air travel.

Q: How important is it for you to meet the families of the team members?
Mick Schumacher: The fact that I meet them won’t change the way we work over the weekend, but I’ll be able to spend time with great people and their families, and I’m looking forward to it.

Q: Tell us about the characteristics of the circle and how the new cars will behave in the fast corners of Maggotts, Becketts and Abbey?
Mick Schumacher: The faster new cars go, the more downforce they generate. This means that their behavior in fast corners will be different from last year.

I’m sure the part of the track with Maggotts and Becketts turns will be very interesting. I don’t know if we’ll get through it faster because of the greater weight of the cars, but I’m sure it will be fun, and the swing of the cars won’t be as big as in Baku.

Q: The British Grand Prix opens a series of four races in July. How hard will it be for the drivers and team members to work in such a schedule?
Mick SchumacherA: Of course it will be very difficult. We already know how tough race weekends can be, with many more to come this month. All team members will have to put in more effort, but it is important not to waste all the energy, because the season is still long.

I also have some cool events in July, including the SVAG CS Classic show at my family’s farm in Givrins.
