Carlos Sainz led the protocol of the second free practice session of the Singapore Grand Prix. Ferrari’s high speed was confirmed by Charles Leclerc, who was just 0.018 seconds behind his teammate. The Scuderia drivers assess the results of the first day of the race weekend positively and expect a good result in qualifying.
Carlos Sainz (1st): “Positive Friday. From the first lap of the first session the car was in the optimal operating range, so in the second session we focused on finding more subtle settings.
I expect the track condition to improve tomorrow, which will also increase grip on the asphalt. Let’s see how much our rivals and ourselves can improve in qualifying.”
Charles Leclerc (2nd): “Quite a good day. The car looks more competitive than we expected on this track, but we shouldn’t relax as I don’t think the rivals have shown their true pace yet.
We continue to work on optimizing the balance sheet. I’m sure we can add more tomorrow.”
