Edoardo Mortara has left the Formula E team, for which he competed since 2017. At the time it was called Venturi and since last year, after receiving factory support from the Italian company Maserati, it became known as Maserati MSG Racing.
Seasons 2021 and 2022 were the best in the career of the Swiss racer, he then took 2nd and 3rd places in the individual competition, but this year the results were worse – he did not even manage to get on the podium.
“I have come a long way in the last six years and felt honored to represent our team throughout,” said Mortara, summarizing this important period of his career. – Since 2017 we have been through a lot together, there were both successes and failures, from which we learned, grew and became a competitive team, fighting for victories in races and championships. I am proud to have played a role in this.
I would like to thank the team for their trust and support and wish them all the best for the future.”
Maserati MSG Racing also thanked the 36-year-old driver for his cooperation: “During these six wonderful years, his contribution to the team has been incredibly important, and now we can only wish him success in his future endeavours.”
Mortara has not yet spoken about his plans for 2024, but it is expected that the Maserati team will name the driver who will take his place and become Max Gunther’s new partner in the coming weeks.
