Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko commented on Felipe Massa’s decision to sue the FIA and Formula 1 to review the results of the 2008 season. The Austrian specialist sided with the former driver and said that nothing bad would happen if Lewis Hamilton had one championship title less.
Helmut Marko: “If new facts become known, the case can be opened. And in this case, Massa’s chances won’t be that bad. The only question is: where can we end up if we have to look at the results of other races where incidents have occurred?
It was devastating to see Massa celebrate the title for 20 seconds after finishing the race in Brazil, and then suddenly the victory disappeared. I would like him to win the championship title. And then Mr. Hamilton, for whom records are not that important, would have one less title.”
