‘I knew it would happen’ – Verstappen on breaking his Formula 1 winning streak

Double world champion Max Verstappen spoke about the broken winning streak in Formula 1, saying that not everything in the championship can work perfectly for a long time.

Verstappen finished fifth at the Singapore Grand Prix and ended his record ten-match winning streak. The first place in the race was taken by the Spaniard Carlos Sainz from Ferrari, in second place by the British Lando Norris (McLaren), the top 3 was completed by the seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes).

– I knew this would happen. So for me it’s completely normal. [Для победы] everything should work perfectly. Everyone always says, “Look how dominant they are” or “Look how easy it is.” But it’s not easy, there are a lot of details that need to be sorted out. “Obviously we didn’t do everything right this weekend,” RacingNews365 quotes Verstappen.

The Dutch Red Bull driver has never won in Singapore in his career.

The next stage of the Formula 1 championship will take place in Japan from September 22 to 24.
