On the eve of the British Grand Prix, Mercedes head Toto Wolff summed up the Canada stage and talked about the team’s goals for the coming weekend.
Toto Wolff: “During the stage in Canada, we won the fifth podium of the season – the team was happy to get a lot of points. While we’re happy with the W13’s bursts of speed, we still have a long climb ahead of us. There is still a lot of work to be done to lead the way, but we now have a clear direction. We are focused on getting more speed out of the car as the season progresses.
We head to Silverstone for one of the most memorable races of the season. Passionate fans well versed in sports gather in the stands. It is also our home base as our bases in Brackley and Brixworth are close to the track. On Friday, the team’s staff will be in the stands – they will be able to see the results of their hard work in action, which is incredibly exciting.
We know that the two best teams have a significant advantage. Our job is to close the gap. We’ve done well at Silverstone in the past, this weekend we’ve made some improvements to the car and the track is smoother. We look forward to going one step further.”
