Australian pilot Oscar Piastri extended the agreement with McLaren, reports the press service of the Formula 1 team.
The 22-year-old driver’s new contract runs until the end of 2026.
— I am happy to confirm that Oscar has extended his contract for several years. “Oscar is a valuable asset to McLaren and has always impressed with his performance, work ethic and attitude, so it was an easy decision for the team,” McLaren boss Andrea Stella said.
“I am very happy to extend my contract with McLaren.” Our wishes coincided with the direction of the team, so the decision to extend our working relationship was easy. We shared great times together in my first season and I am excited to continue working with the team in the years to come,” said Piastri.
Piastri’s partner at McLaren is a Briton Lando Norris .
