Not so long ago we told you that Stoffel Vandoorne would make his debut for the Peugeot factory team in the penultimate round of the World Endurance Championship.
Stoffel then replaced the injured Nico Muller, and one must assume that at the 6 Hours of Fuji he completed the task normally, although the crew of the Peugeot 9X8 sports prototype only managed 7th place there. In 2024, the 31-year-old Belgian driver will definitely compete for this team: he will take the place of Gustavo Menezes, who is leaving Peugeot.
“Next season I will finally go to Peugeot Sport! – Stoffel commented on his social media pages. “I am very excited to be back in the WEC because I have had great moments in endurance racing in the past and I am excited to recreate them with the new team.”
In theory, Vandoorne could return to the wheel of the Paugeot hypercar at the season finale, which will take place in Bahrain on November 4 – this will happen if Nico Muller has not fully recovered by then.
