The current world champion and overall leader this season set his best lap in the third qualifying segment in 1 minute 28.877 seconds. This result is 0.581 seconds faster than that achieved by Australian McLlaren driver Oscar Piastri, who finished second. Third place goes to another McLlaren driver, Briton Lando Norris (+0.616).

It is worth noting that seven-time world champion Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton finished seventh in qualifying. The Briton is 1.031 behind Verstappen.
