In Suzuka, Alex Albon advanced to the second part of qualifying, and his teammate Logan Sargent had an accident…
Alex Albon (13th): “If this track had been ten degrees colder, we would have qualified for the final. The weekend proved difficult, so 13th place is our maximum for today.
I’m happy with my fastest lap and the result. Tires wear out quickly in Suzuka, especially in this warm weather, so tomorrow will be a difficult day for us.”
Logan Sargent (without time): “Everything was going well before the accident, but in the last sector I had a problem with overheating of the rear wheels and I lost the rear of the car at the exit of the corner. Maybe I attacked too aggressively and the wind was fair. When the car jumped onto the grass, there was nothing I could do.
The team will have to work hard to restore the car tomorrow, I really appreciate all their efforts and commitment. I will put this accident behind me and concentrate on tomorrow’s race.”
