The preliminary Formula E calendar for the next season, published the day before, consists of 18 races to be held in 13 cities around the world, including two new stages – in Brazil and India.
In Season 9, the EV Racing World Championship teams will switch to the third generation (Gen3) cars, which will debut in Mexico City next January, but will be preceded by official testing in Valencia, scheduled for mid-December.
Although the calendar is still subject to change, its first draft has already been approved by the FIA World Motorsport Council and national motoring clubs.
On February 11, the fourth leg of the championship will be hosted for the first time by the Indian city of Hyderabad and on March 25, the seventh stage will be held in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Saudi Arabia, Seoul, Jakarta, Rome and London are hosting double events.
Alberto Longo, Co-Founder and CEO of the Championship: “The ninth season calendar will feature the most comprehensive and dynamic racing schedule in Formula E history.
We are expanding the international geography of electric city racing, which will be held for the first time in Hyderabad and Sao Paulo, while retaining the very popular stages in Ed Diria, Mexico City, Berlin, Monaco, Rome, London, Jakarta and Seoul. calendar.
We are also working hard to organize races in Cape Town and the US and to include these stages in an updated version of the calendar, which will be published at a later date.”
12 teams are entering the ninth season, including three new ones – McLaren Racing, Maserati and ABT.
