New Zealand car manufacturer Rodin Cars has announced that its joint Formula 1 bid with Carlin has not been approved by the FIA.
Complete with a brief official statement, Rodin Cars added details of its plan, which meets FIA requirements on a range of conditions. In particular, the geographical diversity, the guaranteed participation of a female driver (the team tested three and chose Jamie Chadwick), the status as an independent car manufacturer, the possibility of collaboration with Ferrari, the existing Carlin youth program and the guaranteed financing of the company founder.
“Unfortunately, our application was not approved. This statement summarizes the key points of our application that we believe demonstrate its benefits.
We would like to emphasize that our aim is not to criticize the FIA or ask for a review of the decision. We fully respect and accept their decision. Our sole purpose is to publish information for the Formula 1 community,” the official statement said.
