Aston Martin has published annual accounts for 2022. The documents show that the Formula 1 team suffered a loss of almost $53 million last season, which is $9 million more than the year before.
Financial losses increased despite a $32 million increase in prize money and sponsorships compared to 2021.
Last season, the team’s total expenses rose to $152,046,000, compared to $107,735,000 in 2021. Taking into account all expenses and revenues, losses in 2022 were $52,915,000, compared to $43,332,000 a year earlier.
The team’s payroll last year was $54,983,000, up about 10% from the year before. But this growth is explained by an increase in the number of employees – from 401 in 2021 to 504 in 2022. Of this number, 81 people are involved in administration, and 423 are responsible for ‘development, production and technology’.
