Speaking at the final round in Suzuka, AlphaTauri chief race engineer Jonathan Eddolls said the team would not force the return of Daniel Ricciardo behind the wheel as they want the Australian driver to make a full recovery from his injuries.
Red Bull Racing boss Christian Horner has already expressed doubts that Ricciardo will start the Qatar Grand Prix, and Daniel himself expects to get behind the wheel again in a few weeks, although the exact date will be announced after simulator testing next week.
“The upcoming work on the simulator will be the first test that will assess my condition,” PerthNow quotes Daniel Ricciardo. – Afterwards it is possible to plan further actions.
I definitely want to go back in the coming weeks. That’s the plan. I will probably know more early next week.”
