In an interview with SunSport, McLaren driver Lando Norris spoke about how hard it is to be a public figure…
Lando Norris: “Among the subscribers to social networks, there are even people who threaten me with death. A lot of negativity about my personal life, my girlfriend – Luisinya is especially difficult. You don’t expect this when you’re in Formula 1 after a normal life. With her growing following, she needs to be more careful about what she says and does.
In racing you get used to it gradually, you go through Formula 4, Formula 3, Formula 2, but in this chain the transition to Formula 1 is a big step, not to mention Luisinha, who had no such thing expected in all.
A lot of comments relate to my pilots and the supposedly different attitude towards the riders. Just because I’m British and play in the British team, everyone thinks the team prefers me. When I talk to the team on the radio, they record it like I’m complaining. I hate to complain, but during the race the breath quickens, that’s why the sound is like that.
It seems strange to me that people spend their only life on Earth sitting in front of a computer and trying to intimidate someone. They create fake pages, chats, write fake messages. It’s amazing to me that they spend their lives on this.
I want to race, travel the world, meet new people and they just sit at their computer in their bedroom. It’s strange that people do this with their own lives.”
