On October 8, auction house Bonhams will put an unusual lot up for auction: it’s not just a replica of the Ferrari F14 T that Fernando Alonso raced in 2014 – it’s a racing simulator based on the show car.
The F14 T was the first chassis built in Maranello at the start of the new ‘turbo era’, when Formula 1 switched to hybrid powertrains. Alonso’s partner that season was Kimi Raikkonen and drove the same car.
The model, which can be bought at auction, is full size, has a Thrustmaster steering wheel, similar to a Ferrari racing wheel, and pedals, and also has a built-in Sony Playstation VR Megapack games console. According to the auction organizers, the simulator works perfectly, but a monitor must be added to all this equipment.
The model is static and the wheels do not rotate, but to move the simulator there are special small wheels hidden under the chassis, so you can transport this beauty without much effort.
This coming weekend the Bonhams Cars auction will take place in the Belgian seaside resort of Knokke-Heist, and this really interesting simulator has a starting price between 30-40 thousand euros.
