Charles Leclerc: The new car will be different from the SF-23

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc is optimistic about the team’s preparations for 2024. The Monegasque said, citing Scuderia head Frederic Vasseur, that the new car will differ significantly from the current SF-23.

Charles Leclerc: “After the Monza stage we started to better understand what would allow us to take at least a small step in the right direction. In addition, we will be able to use the information obtained when creating a car for next year, which is positive.

The 2024 project is very different from our current car. Our form confirms that we have made the right choice for next year. The more we learn in the coming weeks, the more parts we can add to the new car, so the next races are very important.”

Charles Leclerc added that quickly closing the gap with the leaders will not be easy given budgetary constraints: “We have to be patient, but everyone is on an equal footing. We have a simulator for testing new products, so virtually I’m really looking forward to next year. Now my job is to do the maximum behind the wheel of the car we have at our disposal.

I haven’t seen the 2024 car yet because it’s too early, but Frederic Vasseur said it will be very different from the current one. Racers see the car’s weaknesses and talk about them, and engineers fix them. I have been told that the new car will be noticeably different from the SF-23, so now I want to test the new product on the simulator as soon as possible.”
