Esteban Ocon hopes to build on the progress made at the last Grand Prix in Qatar…
Question: How do you evaluate the last races?
Esteban Ocon: It was an exciting, but quite positive period. In the last race we earned two points, and in Singapore and Suzuka on two different circuits and in different conditions we saw encouraging signs. It is an honor for the entire team at the circuit, at the bases in Enstone and Viry. We have refined the car and made progress.
We are working hard to prevent further problems and aim for good results in the remaining races.
Q: What is the mood in the team before Qatar?
Esteban Ocon: Good. After Japan I spent a few days at the base, working on the simulator and talking to the engineers. I see that everyone is motivated to fight and wants to finish the 2023 season at a high level.
Personally, I focused on physical fitness and also took time to do a demo run at the Rallye Coeur de France – it was fun. We are now focused on being as prepared as possible for this race. I’m looking forward to getting behind the wheel again.
Q: What can you say about the Losail circuit?
Esteban Ocon: It’s nice to be back in Qatar, where we didn’t race last year. We have good memories of that weekend in 2021. I love this fast and flowing circuit with many medium and high speed corners and a long straight. Finding the optimal settings can be a big advantage.
I’m looking forward to the opportunity to participate in the fight, satisfy the fans and get a good result.
