Carlos Sainz’s contract with Ferrari expires at the end of 2024 and the Spanish driver has repeatedly said he wants to decide his future career plans in the coming off-season. In Qatar, Carlos said he expects to stay at the Scuderia and challenge for the title as part of the team in the near future.
Carlos Sainz: “Our whole team has a great mentality to win, but to achieve this we have to keep working. We are constantly trying to improve and rise to the level of Red Bull and even higher. We simply need this because we want to become world champions. The team has the right mindset for this.
This year, Max Verstappen took full advantage of the opportunities that the dominant car offered him. He took the opportunity to break all kinds of records. I hope we can get closer to them next season and put more pressure on them. I don’t want Red Bull to win so easily again.
My latest results show that Ferrari and I have an excellent working relationship, but I have never doubted that. I feel very comfortable in the team and want to stay both in the medium and long term. I hope that we will agree on everything in the winter and continue to work together in the future.
I enjoy playing for this team and I can imagine fighting for the title soon.”
