Red Bull driver Max Verstappen set the fastest time during the first practice sessions of the Qatar Formula 1 Grand Prix.
The Dutch driver’s best lap time was 1 minute 27.428 seconds. Second place went to Spaniard Carlos Sainz Jr. of Ferrari (+0.334 seconds), third to his Monaco teammate Charles Leclerc (+0.481).
British Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton showed the 13th result (+1,251).
The qualifying race will take place later Friday.
