Valtteri Bottas (9th): “I’m happy that I was able to reach the final again after a few races. Today I really had confidence in the car, this result was a great reward for the team for a number of weeks of hard work.
Reaching the top ten is a pleasant surprise, showing that we did everything right during our only training session on Friday. We still have a qualifying and a sprint on Saturday, but we started the weekend well, on Sunday we will start in the top ten and fight for points.”
Guanyu Zhou (20th): “I should have qualified higher, as shown by Valtteri’s result, but I could not drive the decisive fast lap without errors. Logan Sargent decided to overtake me on the straight, ruining the lap for both of us. The track condition improved every minute, and when it really mattered I failed to improve.
Tomorrow we will have another opportunity to demonstrate our speed. We have to qualify properly for the sprint and perform well in the sprint.”
