Formula 1 extends its contract with the British company The Memento Group (TMG), which is engaged in the trade of license and souvenir products, until 2025, and also expands the range of agreements with her, which now also includes the online sale of historic race cars and show cars via the website www.f1authentics.com.
The first special auction has already been announced and will run until July 5, with a 1990 Formula 1 car, the Leyton House CG901, up for grabs. It is in working condition, it can already participate in races of historic vehicles. The car is famous, on it Ivan Capelli took 2nd place in the French Grand Prix in 1990. It is believed to be up for auction for more than £795,000.
TMG has officially partnered with Formula 1 since 2019 and the contract extension will allow fans to offer original merchandise from the championship teams for four more seasons, both current collections and past years.
Brandon Snow, Commercial Director Formula 1: “In 2019 we entrusted TMG with the task of building and managing a secure online platform where fans can select and purchase certified Formula 1 merchandise.
Over the past three years, our partnership has grown stronger and including the sale of old race cars and show cars is a very impressive innovation. We are pleased to continue this work to provide our fans with a wider range of opportunities that will allow them to own unique pieces of Formula 1 history.”
