Formula 1 confirmed that Pirelli will remain a partner and exclusive supplier of the World Championship until 2027, and also has an option for a further year.
Also new to the agreement is the ability to supply tires to Formula 2 and Formula 3 teams, in line with Pirelli’s commitment to supporting the next generation of racing talent.
The extension of the agreement with Formula 1 means that the Italian company will remain the monopoly supplier of the championship teams for eighteen seasons.
During this period, Pirelli tire manufacturers have built a close partnership with racers, teams, the FIA and Formula 1, supplying racing tires and collecting and analyzing information about their performance to improve the quality of their products year after year improve.
Pirelli has also taken a leading position in the development of environmentally friendly solutions and supports Formula 1’s ecological commitment as the championship aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030.
From 2024, all Pirelli tires intended for the World Championship will be certified by the international Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). An FSC certificate means that the plantations from which vegetable raw materials for rubber production are supplied meet environmental standards in terms of supporting biodiversity, and also generate income for the people who work on them and the local population.
