Formula 1 has extended the contract with the current tire supplier, reports the press service of the racing series.
The new contract with the Italian company Pirelli runs until 2027.
“Since its return to the sport in 2011, Pirelli has become an invaluable partner of Formula 1.” “The company will continue to provide tires that will provide fantastic racing experiences for our fans,” said Formula 1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali.
Pirelli won the battle against the Japanese company Bridgestone, whose candidacy was approved by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA).
The deal was announced days after the Qatar Grand Prix. Formula 1 wants to transition to new technical regulations with its usual tire supplier.
