The Aston Martin team brought new items to the home round at Silverstone. Lance Stroll was pleased with the updates and his team-mate Sebastian Vettel was unable to perform well on track due to technical issues with the machine.
Lance Walk (10th): “I think we managed to cover a good distance despite the weather. I am happy with the car – the new items left a positive first impression. Thanks to the optimization of the settings, we managed to add a little – we will continue this work in the evening and tomorrow morning to prepare for qualifying.
I had a little understeer and then a little oversteer, but this is normal on this track. We will try to solve the problem tomorrow.”
Sebastian Vettel (12th): “A busy day with changeable weather: it rained for the first practice and then the wind intervened, as is usually the case at Silverstone. All this limited our work as we waited for the track to dry.
In the second session I also lost some time due to small problems that we solved during the training. As a result, my time on track was limited and I couldn’t do everything we normally do on Friday.
It’s a little disappointing as we have a few new releases for this weekend. In the evening and tomorrow morning we will try to catch up to get ready for qualifying.”
