On Friday at Silverstone, Carlos Sainz led the protocol – and believes that tomorrow Ferrari will be able to make the car even faster…
Carlos Sainz (1st): “The second session in particular turned out to be difficult, because we hardly worked in the first. The whole program for working on short and long series of circles had to be transferred to the second training.
The day turned out to be tense, the strong wind made it difficult to find the optimal balance in fast corners and to get the tires to work in slow sections. Friday we were fast, but we can add more.
Qualifying promises to be interesting due to the chance of rain – in this case a few laps in the rain in the first practice will come in handy. Let’s see how it goes tomorrow.”
Charles Leclerc (5th): “In the first practice session we only did a few laps on a wet track to gather information in case we have similar conditions in qualifying tomorrow. When the rain stopped and the track was dry I was given a Soft kit but because of the red flags I was unable to complete the lap.
The second session went better. I loved the feel of the car, I am optimistic about its speed. Tomorrow we have to put together all today’s work and get the maximum result.
