Red Bull Racing makes no secret of the fact that Sergio Perez’s results in recent months have left much to be desired. Team advisor Helmut Marko made it clear that the Mexican driver will largely remain with the team because Red Bull Racing does not see him as a worthy replacement.
Helmut Marko: “I will repeat what I said before: Perez has a contract and we want to respect his conditions. The team is doing everything it can to get its results back on track.
We simply have no alternative options for Perez. Otherwise he might get in trouble. At the moment I only see one driver who can come close to Max’s speed: Fernando Alonso.”
Sergio Perez faces the task of ending the season in second place in the individual rankings, but Marco rejected the idea that Max Verstappen would help his teammate: “No, Max is not going to help him.”
