AlphaTauri had a bad Friday, both riders came to the end of protocol…
Yuki Tsunoda (16th): “I really enjoyed driving the car at Silverstone this year. This track has always been difficult because of the fast corners, but with the new car you can attack even more aggressively in Maggotts and Becketts – it’s great!
The day was unusual – because of the rain we almost didn’t work in the first training session, but in the second we were able to finish almost everything we had planned for the whole day.
Silverstone does not suit our car, we are seriously inferior to other teams. We knew in advance that it would not be easy for us here. We need to take a really big step forward to hope for a competitive performance in qualifying.
It looks like conditions will be difficult tomorrow, everything will have to be analyzed in the evening to adapt quickly to the vagaries of the British weather.
Pierre Gasly (18th): “Today we damaged some parts of the car in the beginning, which made the task even more difficult, but in general we just lack speed here.
We have big problems in fast corners and on this track, unfortunately for us, there are a lot of them. We knew in advance that the weekend will be difficult, but in the evening we will do our best to be in top shape on Sunday.”
